My RCRC oval body is in!

March 8th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in RC Car Deals
I threw a few screws into the body and set it on my Baja 5B 2.0 RTR. I looks pretty good and I decided that I want to design and make some custom body mounts. While I’m working on that I need you guys to help me come up with a paint scheme. I want something with bright colors just incase we end up racing at night at the HPI East Coast Baja Nats. You can post paint jobs here or email them to me at kevinh@airage.com.

Vintage RC10 help

March 8th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in RC Car Deals
I have a vintage RC10 (originally gold chasis) that I put some new electronics in and a new motor.

it is a 10t motor and intellispeed speed control.

To be honest I have never had anything I was as happy with in this since the original motor which eventually burnt up 15yrs ago.

I miss the days of it's quick response and fast speeds. The current setup mentioned above SUCKS! The speed controller is nice but I am guessing the motor in this car sucks up so much juice that even with a new battery at full throttle I cannot stear. Same setup works great in my Tamiya S2000 (but it is all plastic)

What would you all recommend I do to get the car running better than it ever has. I want fast take off and something that is pretty fast.

I am not racing, this is just for personal enjoyment.

Did you ever notice…

Have you ever noticed that within the first 5 minutes of putting your RC on the ground someone has to approach you and ask the inevitable question, "How fast does it go?"? That is usually an introduction for them to tell you about a friend/relative/total stranger that has some 80+ mph car. My response is usually:

"Fast enough to break"
"Not very fast at all"
"See"
"150 mph"

I'm not being snobby but when I want to talk RC I come on here. When I'm in the field or track I want to drive. Now I'm going to find a place to bash my Raider and Icarus like its 1987 again.

My new Toyota won’t be recalled!

I am leaving Japan in a few weeks, but I couldn't leave without picking up something from Tamiya land! Today I got the truck and ball bearing kit for a little less than 31,000 Yen (about $340 US). I can't wait to start building! I am very impressed with the quality and detail of this kit.
