New from Novak:

Irvine, CA – March 10, 2010 – Novak has combined one of its popular Havoc speed controls with its top-of-the-line, ROARapproved Ballistic Spec motor to create the perfect system for power-hungry drivers. The Havoc 3S/Ballistic Brushless Systems with Traxxas® Plug – 10.5T (#3080), 13.5T (#3081) and 17.5T (#3082) are equipped with a high-current handling, Traxxas®-compatible battery connector for easy, race-ready installation. In other words, no soldering! To simplify installation further, the Havoc 3S/Ballistic Systems include gold-plated bullet motor plugs, which eliminate tricky wiring situations and allow the system to be easily removed from the vehicle without soldering. Additionally, this system is compatible with a wide range of battery types, including 2S-3S Li-Po packs. Simply plug in your battery, and you’re set to break some track records! In fact, the Havoc 3S/Ballistic system is one of the fastest upgrades available. Its sensored design creates a significantly smoother ride than a sensorless system, plus it has a more consistent throttle response – perfect for racing. This system is an ideal fit for any 1/10-scale off-road, on-road or short-course vehicle, including Traxxas’® Slash™ Short-Course Trucks, Traxxas’® Stampede™ Monster Truck, Traxxas’® Rustler™ Stadium Truck or Traxxas’®
Bandit™ Buggy.

ONE-TOUCH™ AND GO!

The Havoc 3S has the easiest ESC/transmitter calibration available. A simple push of the One-Touch™ button activates a fast, durable and versatile speed control that is incredibly simple to operate and is ideal for 2-3S Li-Po bashing and racing applications. For example, the Havoc 3S automatically detects – through Novak’s auto-detect Li-Po software – whether a 2S or 3S Li-Po battery is connected. This feature is part of the reason that the Havoc 3S has such a remarkably speedy reputation. This flexible ESC is also compatible with conventional brushed motors for a different style of racing. For those interested in fine tuning, the Havoc 3S ESC features a simple interface with nine adjustable parameters, such as Throttle Curve and Brake Frequency. The Havoc 3S is also extremely durable with a highly water-resistant case that stands up to any type of weather. It also contains one of the strongest BECs for sport applications and includes Li-Po Cut-Off Circuitry that protects your batteries from damage. Additionally, the Havoc 3S’s small footprint and low cost make it a perfect complement for any 1/10-scale electric vehicle, such as HPI’s® Blitz™ Short-Course Truck and E-Firestorm™ Stadium Truck, and Associated’s® SC10™ Short-Course Truck, RC10B4™ Buggy and RC10T4™ Truck.

FLAWLESSLY FAST

But the exciting features don’t end there. Each Ballistic Spec motor includes a color-coded, hand-wound stator to easily identify the number of motor winds, perfect for spec racing. In fact, the Ballistic motors are so versatile that any turn from 8.5 through 25.5 (#S6608-#S6625) can be installed to alter the motor’s speed. Drivers can go from wild to mild in a few quick steps. This motor will adapt to any driver as he or she progresses. Additionally, these motors include all the must-have features to solidify their status as superior racing machines. Each Ballistic Spec motor is ROAR approved and includes a nickelplated sintered Neodymium rotor for maximum motor acceleration, braking power and performance in high-temperature conditions. And like all of Novak’s innovative Ballistic motors, these motors are also completely rebuildable with dozens of replaceable parts available, which will enhance your motor investment.

WILD-TO-MILD MOTOR

By simply switching a stator, drivers can customize their motor for any type of racing.

looking for opinions

March 11th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in RC Car Deals
Looking for your thoughts and opinions on a few things.

1st I got to say I like the site alot, alot of info. a bit of history on me Im 32 yrs old and used to race rc cars from ages 12-18, and havnt done much since. 1st car was a Kyosho ultima II, high rider corvette, TRX-1 buggy. I still have the TRX-1 and its in running order.

So im looking to get back into it.

1st: could I hook up the TRX-1 with a brushless setup, just wondering?

2nd: Im leaning towards a buggy I have always been partial to them, and it just seems like everyone runs truck, truggies. So I have been looking at all the options for buggys, I want brushless setup for sure that I know and i think 1/10th scale. At the speeds these cars run today should I go with a 4x4 buggy for handling purposes, or does a 2 whl dr handle as good with the right setup? is 4 whl dr more popular these days?

3rd: I was looking at the Bandit VXL with the 2.4 radio, a few freinds have the Traxxas Slash trucks and love them. I have had good luck with traxxas in the past, so just wanted some opinions. ( I know some hate traxxas and some like them, just like ford and chevy)
any insight would be great, I will be racing and just messing around

Thanks in advanced

converting eps files to jpeg files for your plotter

March 11th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in RC Car Deals
Ok i am writing this quick guide to helkp those of that maybe new to the whole plotter scene.....I am basing this on what i use which is a craft robo plotter.

On the Craft Robo you can use jpeg images to make stickers ,paint masks,etc...as well as most plotters

This was my dilema, alot od the images I wanted to use were eps files in which the craft robo wouldnt read with out a program like paint shop pro or adobe photo elements.....times are tough so i wasnt about to go spend $100 on adobe photo elements......so I did a little searching on the internet and came across this

http://epsconvert.com/search.aspx

its 100% free and it converts your eps files to jpeg or other types of files.

Heres a quick run down on how to use it:
first click the upload button
this will take you to another screen where 1 box says "browse",click on this
now this will take you to a sub box of your computer...my documents,my pictures ,etc
ok say you have a image of a batman symbol, click on that and it will take you back to the screen with that "browse" box,in the long box next to where it says "browse", its gonna contain the image location of the batman symbol, underneath this, you will see a upload button, click on this
it takes a second to upload
now when you upload it,its gonna look likeof what reminds you of a "ebay" auction:
you will see the image, the file name and so forth
now click on your batman picture there
now it will bring up your picture, NOW heres the tricky part but its easy so pay attention:
now you will see select file format with a red drop box next to it
click on that drop box and change the file extension to what you need,so in this case you will click on jpeg
when you change the image,it will disappear for a second and come back!
NOW after doing that, right click on the image, go to "save picture as" and your computer sub box will come up again. You can rename the file and save it to where you want to and presto you are done!!!!what i personally do is save them in "my pictures"hope this helps some peoplel out with there plotters.this might not work for all plotters but I know it will work with the craft robo
